Everybody has a story of when…..and how, they first saw Dr Who….of course memory is a odd thing….its organic….and for me it’s a tad fuzzy….but, in amongst the fuzzyness there are also very clear memories that jump out….for example we had on The Sea Devils when I was young….and I remember really clearly certain things about it….like Roger Delgado onscreen presence...and equally to this, John Pertwees onscreen presence...they were both capable of being smiley and friendly looking and then switching to serious….but there was this sort of cheekyness to them….I do remember being captivated by both of them. I also remember loving the cliffhangers...and having to wait a whole week to see the next part.
Then there was / is very clear memories of music….I distinctly remember the Doctor Who theme tune for the Sylvester McCoy era which sounded so very pleasing to the ears....I‘d never heard anything like it...i remember thinking "wow"....the intro at the time too had early CGI in it too I believe....and he winked and smiled...that was interesting.
....and I remember a sequence in a episode where Ace was being fired on by a Dalek....I possibly highly probably saw this when it was very first broadcast.
I have very clear memories too of another time where I heard the Peter Davidson era theme tune.....I thought it was terrific too...it sounded so very good...it explains a lot....because, I became a big fan of synth music and still love it to this day. Its always sounded so clear and i love the modulation wheel on my synth...just gorgeous.

ANGRY BIRDS AND BAD PIGGIES
Wow...I just have my jaw on the floor at how good these games really are. Finnish computer game developer Rovio Entertainment must be one of the best games company's on the go at the moment.
I've been away from the computer games scene for a long time now (about ten years)...but, recently my father bought me a seven inch tablet, and on there, was a free game called Angry Birds Rio....I very much loved playing it...and grew curious to know what else the company had done...I found a review of Bad Piggies on Youtube and it looked good. To my astonishment it was a free download...and is a excellent five star game in both gameplay, sound and graphics (incredibly good music)...the game encourages lateral thinking and the fact they have put it out there for free shows that the Finnish games company is not a greedy one. I would imagine they started it off as a pay per download and then after so many downloads they decided to make it free.

SOMETHING SPECIAL
This is special for me because I've never shown it on Youtube or in HD...it's actually only been rendered out in HD for the first time recently....it was a good feeling though to be able to show it.

A DIFFERENT LOOK
I've started to go for a different look for my animations.
There were complaints of a plastic look once upon a time about my stuff...but I feel in order to improve the lighting I'm going to have to go for this plastic look....also I don't think it looks too bad.
Here is the transport from While They Slept with a bit of alteration.

A BLAKE'S 7 REMAKE FINALLY GOING TO HAPPEN?
This is very exciting if it actually happens. Ive been a fan for a long time and always felt that you could redo it and cut certain bits out to make it much better.
Deadline have news of the latest attempt.

INTERIOR OF RAMA
This is my go at the inside...every filmmaker / animator who takes on Rama has to face the inside sooner or later...it's a wonderful challenge...and, I love looking at all the different ones that have been made by other people so far too.

TRAILER
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyMjsmm-qDw&feature=plcp
Here is a new trailer.
As you can see I'm continuing on with my Rama movie...I've spent time on my fathers Korg again to try and do a better job of the soundtrack.

MORE WORK ON ENDEAVOR
I'm having to do more design work and adding to Endeavour right now...this is usually how things go though...very slow and very plodding...you could spend one month on Endeavour alone...but I want to push forward and get to do the insides of Rama too.
I'm wanting a shot of the astronaunts leaving Endeavour out of a door.
I'll upload a image today of the new bit I've added.
Theres still the interiour of Endeavour to do too...and the space suits...

http://youtu.be/oiEFcJkXxV8
I'm busy at the moment doing a attempt at Rendezvous with Rama...it felt like the right thing to do and so that's where I am at the moment.

KING KONG VS GODZILLA (USA VERSION)
The thing about this one is....I thought it was great!...it's tremendously funny and fun....it moves along at a good speed...ok occasionally it has some scenes that go on way too long.....but I feel If you look past those scenes it's really well directed with it's structure and pacing.
If a single word had to be used to decribe it...it would be Fun.

NEW VERSIONS OF THE BORROWERS
so at christmas...during the christmas and new year season....i noticed that there was a Borrowers film being shown on BBC 1 or 2.....well actually i heard about it in a email.....and then i got really confused wondering if it was the animated one...
....but it was a British production with Christopher Eccelston as Pod (90 minutes)
I watched it and it was actually really not so bad....what was initially striking was that Pod and family in this version are not like the original at all...the style or vibe has been tinkered with so that the characters come out quite different (that's going to upset some borrowers fans and when we showed it to my mother (a big borrowers fan of the books) she was not so keen and didn;t like how different it was)...but it has a nice funess to it...and the music throughout is really nice.
There is another Borrowers been made too by the much famous (and impeccable record) Studio Ghibli called The Secret World of Arrietty.

PERI URBAN AND THE FOX
I recently started watching videos again on youtube...I was part of the whole youtube thing back in 2005...you know the whole scenario of when each one of us finally got broadband? and then well, it was this big fun new thing...you could finally watch video on the internet...that was a big leap....and all these cool people were appearing on youtube...it was quite something at the time...and still is.
Here Peri Urban has a encounter with a fox...his new camera captures it beautifully in 720p. He's great at commentary on his videos and they are always interesting to watch.

TERRORE NELLO SPAZIO (1965)

This one took me by surprise...I found it by accident one day on youtube. The film seems to be widely known as Planet of the Vampires.
I can only describe what I saw as being Forbidden Planet in feeling (at times)...and also feelings of it being a lot like Alien / The Thing. Alien of course arrived in 1979.
It's a very inspiring movie for me because of what was achieved with what they had...but also the camerawork and editing are first rate. It really is one of those ones where you go "if they could do it then I could too"...my camerawork and editing are my strongest things too.
So give it a whirl here if you want to see if it has something for you...or if quality is a problem for you...you might want to watch this to get a feel / vibe and then hire the movie.

PRICE INCREASES?
Well that Playstation 3 there just went up...straight back to £229.99 again....arg, I kinda wish I'd bought one now...but I don't know, I think that when The Last Guardian arrives...that will be the time where I really have a large incentive to get one...that game is probably going to be incredible....by the time that happens the price will be down again hopefully.
